if you are like me, always on the look out for new green living tips, you maybe just as excited as me with this post … I came across a wonderful blog post yesterday – “10 Homemade Laundry Soap Detergent Recipes“… shows you how easy it is to make your own laundry soap at home just using simple ingredients found at your local grocery store or you may already have them at your pantry with any of your favorite bar soap… of course for me that’s never a shortage… in fact, I’ve been searching for ways to put my “not-as-perfect” development soaps into a good use.
I’m thinking to try out with recipe #9… I just prefer to go with a powder form…
Powdered Laundry Detergent – Recipe #9

12 cups Borax
8 cups Baking Soda
8 cups Washing Soda
8 cups Bar soap (grated)
- Mix all ingredients well and store in a sealed tub.
- Use 1/8 cup of powder per full load.
*to make it more special, you may want to add in your own favorite essential oil.. just about 8-10 drops for each load should be good.
*also try adding some vinegar to the “bleach” slot if you want to super-brighten your laundry. ^_^
and well.. if you are not a fan of making your own … no biggies… there are quite many lovely fellows who can make them for you, here are a few that looks pretty to me:
Eco Everyday
Maple Hill Farm
Earth’s Essence
I hope we all try a little bit everyday to do something NICER for the environment and for everyone… if you do tried out the recipes or anything from these fellows that you like, don’t forget to comment back here… I would love to hear about your experiences and feedbacks…
have a lovely weekend…
for me would be more soaping, knitting and … eeek, taxes stuffs…
