Autumn Sale! Everything 50% off!!

October 6, 2009

Hi!…it’s been a while… I know I haven’t been blogging lately…. Well, Autumn is finally here in Cali after the series of Indian Summer heat waves. And suddenly, the SF bay area is cooling down drastically with the chilling wind blowing everywhere.  Comfort foods & drinks seem to be what we are all craving for the moment.  I thought you may like a nice autumn sale for some body & bath treats to warm up your mornings or nights.  Doesn’t candlelights & bath sounds really good?  Or how is it a perfect timing to stock up now for the long-drying winter & gifting seasons?

Everything you can glab from our shop is 50% off (YEAH, REALLY!) including on sale items.  Just join mi*points or sign in and use code autumn09

So… my time had been quite occupied lately…  my classroom
While taking some must-needed time off to recover from the Renegade SF, something amazingly had happened to me.  I was offered for a teaching gig at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, one of the most well-known design school and the biggest in the US.  You may already know that I came from the fashion design background and it was my “life-long-but-lost” passion.  4 weeks into this new opportunity has totally revived my passion.  It is so rewarding to offer my years of training & experiences as well as being inspired by the young & creative students at the same time.

I’m just so blessed to be able to enjoy what I’m passionate about everyday in my life.  And now, I’m all ready to get busy with mi SPA to bring you some new excitment for the coming seasons.  I promised more new yum-mi-licious scents are on its way to the shop.  Check back here to be the first to know about our newiest development.

thanks for the comments…

June 6, 2009

just want to say a few words to thanks for everyone who had entered and commented for the June contest.  We had total of 80 great comments for me & Leslie to learn about.  The contest is now closed and we’ll be back to announce the winner on Mon.

in the meantime, I’m going to stay cool and try to rest as much as I can for the weekend, trying to recover from the neck/shoulder pain that had been bordered me for the week already.

enjoy your weekend and see you on Mon!

Happy Monday…

eco laundry soap DIY

March 20, 2009

if you are like me, always on the look out for new green living tips, you maybe just as excited as me with this post … I came across a wonderful blog post yesterday – “10 Homemade Laundry Soap Detergent Recipes“… shows you how easy it is to make your own laundry soap at home just using simple ingredients found at your local grocery store or you may already have them at your pantry with any of your favorite bar soap… of course for me that’s never a shortage… in fact, I’ve been searching for ways to put my “not-as-perfect” development soaps into a good use.

I’m thinking to try out with recipe #9… I just prefer to go with a powder form…
Powdered Laundry Detergent – Recipe #9
Picture of Cup Of Powdered Laundry Detergent - Tipnut.com
12 cups Borax
8 cups Baking Soda
8 cups Washing Soda
8 cups Bar soap (grated)

  • Mix all ingredients well and store in a sealed tub.
  • Use 1/8 cup of powder per full load.

*to make it more special, you may want to add in your own favorite essential oil.. just about 8-10 drops for each load should be good.
*also try adding some vinegar to the “bleach” slot if you want to super-brighten your laundry. ^_^

and well.. if you are not a fan of making your own … no biggies… there are quite many lovely fellows who can make them for you, here are a few that looks pretty to me:
Natural Laundry Soap 56 Loads (112 loads HE) --BEST VALUE-- Eco EverydayAll Natural Laundry Soap - 48 to 96 Loads - Unscented Maple Hill FarmEVO-Clean Laundry Soap Earth’s Essence

I hope we all try a little bit everyday to do something NICER for the environment and for everyone… if you do tried out the recipes or anything from these fellows that you like, don’t forget to comment back here… I would love to hear about your experiences and feedbacks…

have a lovely weekend…

for me would be more soaping, knitting and … eeek, taxes stuffs…

memoirs of NYC…

January 30, 2009

many many years ago, when I still lived in NYC for my fashion school years, I remembered passing by this cute little shop on Broadway – FISHS EDDY - what a perfect unusal name for their playful and fun designs…

and little did I know I’ll run into this shop again today via the brilliant virtual world of blogging from a little hut.  Pat got me hooked instantly on their memo collection and especially the “sales” section.  Here, I just want to share a few more of my love.  ENJOY!

Happy Chinese New Year!!

January 28, 2009

Chinese New Year is full of traditions & customs … always something different for everyday… but it’s always about gatherings, laughs & food.  Families and friends would go around to visit each others… and almost every family would greet you with the candy box along with tea and other mouth-watering-yummilicious New Year’s snacks… and of course the red envelopes are the kids’ favorite of all time.

Today is the 3rd day of New Year and we are not suppose to visit others; for avoiding arguement and bad luck for the year… I just think it’s a nice excuse to relax at home after all the food & celebrations.. LOL!!  If you are lucky like me who live nearby a China Town, you can still catch the Chinese New Year spirits (and all the foods) usually until the 15th of the New Year.  Enjoy them while you can!!

You may noticed we’ve been a little quiet lately… don’t worry… we are still here… just taking some time to focus back on the family plus dealing with all the business (boring) stuffs… but we are working hard on new ideas & developments (which are still early for me to tell)… stay tune… good news should be coming very soon!!

new soaps in curing…

October 22, 2008

just can’t wait to show off the new soaps… 2 are for the seasonal special – asian pear & persimmons and 2 are restock – forest & gingerlily…I really love the 2 new scents… they are my favorite fruits of the season…both a bit on the sweet side (which tends to be my liking)… they will be up for pre-selling next week and ready to ship in a few days after.

there was a little side story about this new batch of gingerlily ricesoap, which I’m as happy as you are to see the petals here… because there would be almost no petals for the soap at all this year… WELL, someone at my house decided to trim off my wildly grown gingerlily… JUST AS THE BUDS ARE COMING OUT… I was heart broken to found out 2 days later my special exotic gingerlily (with the buds) were GONE!  I was devastated!… however by migracles, yesterday I found a bloom in my other grouping of gingerlilies and even a couple more buds are shooting out… I was dancing for joy!… And it looks like I will have to make more with the petals on now.  =)

feeling reconnect…

September 27, 2008

after a week of busy schedules for both me & Mr, we decided to go for an early morning walk @ 7am around the neigborhood before we both need to bury into our work again even on a Saturday… we walked for over an hour along the relaxful nature paths around the lagoons… we had always forget to appreciate the beautiful neigborhood we are living in… we had the best conversations… we talked about things throughout the week… it turned out to be the best time we had with each other since almost for more than a week… it was the best for reconnecting with my special Mr.!!

to backtrack a bit, since last Sat I attended a 4-day business bootcamp organized by Lori at the Nova Studio…even though it was quite an intensive 4-day experience, I had the most enlighting moments…I was so inspired by the speakers’ experiences as they each share their stories…Also get to meet and chat with many other talented indies who came near and even far for jump the camp…We totally had a blast!  I’m now totally energized and motivated to FOCUS on the direction & updates I want to go with my business!!

me & Donna Maria

And lastly, a special lady I want to mention, she was also the main speaker of the camp – Donna Maria Coles Johnson…I’m so grateful for finally meeting her in person… She is so inspiring in so many ways and she has totally help me looking at my business with new perpectives… THANK YOU DONNA MARIA!!

Now, it’s time to get busy and back to my work! Have a wonderful weekend!
