some of you may know that I’m secretly obsessed with knitting, beyond all the handmade stuffs I do… I met Kathy from my favorite yarn shop on twitter one day and we just decided to throw out a join contest with my flora-licious special. Oh.. why not!!

Go over to Kathy’s blog, comment with a Mother’s Day memory and then come back here to comment us on anything you want and tell us you are entering the contest. We’ll pick a random winner over the weekend and announce on Monday. We’ll get your prize package out to you in time for Mother’s Day.
You don’t have to give the prize away, nor do you yourself need to be a Mom.

It was the contest that brought me here, but I am so exciting to learn about this site and your products. I’ve been suffering from a very debilitating chronic illness so have been trying to detox my life at every level.
I read your suggestions re the comment on the dry scalp and found your response very helpful, so perhaps you can help me with my hair issue, too.
Before getting sick I had LOTS of normal to dry curly hair and I used mostly natural products and never used the blow dryer in warm weather. During the course of my illness I have had at least 3 bouts of hair loss and believe I’ve been experience a fourth for many months. The first 2 were due to medications. This one I’m not sure. Also becasue of medications I take my scalp does get quite dry. I do not wash my hair often (in fact that may be part of the problem) because it is a very big and exhausting ordeal for me. I was wondering what you suggest as the optimum amount to wash one’s hair and if you had suggestions of shampoo, condidtioner (I only ever used just a smidge of this because whereas I used to have a lot of hair it was always very fine. The kind that reacts strongly to humidity. But I like it curly.), or even vitamins/minerals that may help me get at least some of my hair back.
Thank you in advance for any advice you may have for me.

I left my coporate America cubicle job around Mother’s Day when I was 5 months pregnant with my first son and just really starting to show. I remember getting cards and a great book of encouraging Scipture from my best friend. A former boss at the time was so encouraging and he said, “well, we knew you were never really at home here.” He was very excited. My co-workers were more confident in my ability to mother than I was. It’s neat to think that even before we meet our little ones, we are their mommies!
